It’s a new ERA in real estate. Uncharted territory. The rules of how the game of real estate is played have shifted under the thumb of the government, and the playing field is forever changed for sellers, buyers, and buyer agents. The real estate industry is in turmoil as agents attempt to adjust to the changes. What do you need to know? Buyers must sign a buyer representation agreement prior to viewing properties with an agent and negotiate their agent’s fee, offers of compensation to a buyer’s agent have been removed from the multiple listing service (MLS) nation-wide, listing agents must decide HOW, WHEN and IF to let people know what, IF ANYTHING, the seller is offering in incentives to attract buyers, and buyers are facing the reality that they may have to pay their agent out of pocket. And perhaps most importantly, do you EVEN NEED TO WORRY about what a seller IS or IS NOT claiming to offer?
