On the Move in Coralville

A Growing Community!

Coralville sits cheek to cheek with Iowa City in Johnson County, and is a major economic hub in the area with many headquarters, businesses, shops, restaurants and service providers. Its location next to both Interstate 80, which runs east to west, and Interstate 380, which runs north to south, makes it strategically located and appealing to people who commute for work. It’s home to a large regional mall, as well as several large retailers like Target, Wal-Mart, Lowes and Costco, so chances are that even if you don’t live in Coralville, you’ll be in town frequently for shopping. Coralville and Iowa City go hand-in-hand and are intrinsically tied to each other, and most people view them as a metro area with much cross over in living, working and playing.

Coralville’s downtown area has gone through a period of development and renewal in the past several years, and now houses an exciting blend of businesses, retail, condos and community venues. One such venue,  the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts is a modern theater which showcases concerts, films and a variety of performances. View their line up here.

Coralville is a vibrant and growing community. One area of exceptional growth is the Iowa River Landing area. The IRL is a destination style mixed use development which is anchored by the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, a large University of Iowa Health Care medical clinic, Von Maur, and soon-to-be ice arena! There are many other speciality businesses to cater to your eating, drinking, and shopping needs in the IRL. In the mood for some wine? Try Louie’s Wine Dive. Have a sweet tooth? Try an out-of-this-world cupcake from Scratch Cupcakery. How about a hip grill with craft beer and rooftop patio?  Get yourself over to 30Hop.

If urban condo living is your jam, and you didn’t know it was possible outside of the big city, be sure to request a showing of one of the chic Coralville condos in the IRL or the Coralville downtown area. If you lean more towards newer single family homes, Coralville has a lot to offer in terms of new construction with its strong housing market. Even with all that’s new in town, there are still tree-lined “old town” neighborhoods where old-fashioned charm takes the front seat. Get in touch, I’d be happy to show you around and help you find the right place to call home!
