The housing market is going nowhere fast–both locally and nationally. While the real estate industry anxiously awaited the FED cut of central bank lending rates as the kickstart needed to bring things back to life for both home buyers and sellers, the end result of the 0.5% cut has been nothing short of…anticlimactic. The long and short of it is the real estate market is still stalled out. Buyers have little motivation to purchase and sellers are watching as the market slides into a soft neutral position. Home owners are still not willing to give up their uber-low interest rates. Home prices are not falling, inventory is slowing creeping upward and it’s taking longer to get homes sold.
